Natalie graduated from University of Toronto with M.Ed in Counselling Psychology. She is a registered psychologist and has been in the practice for more than 10 years. Natalie received extensive training in Canada for many years and did her internship in counselling and psychotherapy before returning to Singapore. Since then, Natalie has worked as a Senior Psychologist at the Child Guidance Clinic, Institute of Mental Health.
Natalie has been in private practice for some years and continues to work with children, adolescents and adults using Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) on patients with Pain, Insomnia, Eating Disorders, Depression, Obsession Compulsion Disorder (OCD), Insomnia and Anxiety. She studied CBT as a module in her post graduate programme. The course was taught by her Professor who was a Certified Cognitive Therapist from The Academy of Cognitive Behaviour in Pennsylvania, an internationally recognized certification body. Natalie continues to further develop her skills in CBT and knowledge in the various mental health issues by taking up courses with the Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH) in Boston, USA in April 2015. She obtained a Certificate of Completion on CBT for Children and Adolescents held at the Beck Institute in Bala Cynwyd, Pennsylvania, USA, in June 2015.
Natalie is a certified hypnotherapist. She participated in the live activity titled Meditation and Psychotherapy: The Power of Mindfulness with the Harvard Medical School, USA. She also has a Certificate of Participation and successful completion on Parenting, Teaching and Treating Challenging kids: The collaborative Problem Solving Approach with the Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH), USA, in April 2015. She also participated an enduring material entitled “Getting Your Patients Well: CBT-Based Strategies to Creating a Healthier Lifestyle (October 2015)”.
Natalie has extensive experience working with children and adults in educational, community and clinical settings. She is a full member and a Registered Psychologist with the Singapore Psychological Society (SPS). She is also an Associate Member with the American Psychological Association (APA).
Natalie has penned a manual/workbook for teachers and children and has been interviewed and quoted in magazine articles about family and parenting.
